Fernham Homes teams up with Spadework for anniversary celebrations

This year is a big one for anniversary celebrations in Kent, as local housebuilder, Fernham Homes, and its charity partner, Spadework, mark their 25-year and 40-year milestones.

Amid a much-welcomed break in the unseasonal June showers, Fernham Homes joined forces with Kent’s Charity of the Year to host a VIP lunch and fundraiser at its award-winning facility in Offham, West Malling, in honour of their respective Silver and Ruby anniversaries.

Joined by loyal stakeholders, partners, and staff, Fernham Homes Managing Director, Sean Ellis, reflected on the last 25 years and the strong legacy established for creating high-quality family homes, championing local architecture, supporting local suppliers and investing in local communities. “For a quarter of a century, Fernham Homes has been dedicated to building thoughtfully designed, high-quality family homes in carefully chosen locations across Kent. Our mission is now to become the housebuilder of choice in Kent, and this wouldn’t be possible without the unwavering support and collaboration of our stakeholders, including landowners, agents, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and of course, our incredible staff – most of whom are in the room with us today”.

The celebration also acknowledged the accomplishments over the past year in what has been a significant step forward in its growth plans. In addition to expanding the team from 15 to 39 staff members, the last twelve months has also seen the launch of the company’s first site as principle contractor in Rainham, under the new Fernham Homes branding, with upcoming sales launches at Sissinghurst, West Malling, and Fawkham.

Additionally, new sites in Newington, Faversham, and Sutton Valence are set to bring 284 new homes and vital community amenities such as shops, a doctor’s surgery, a care home, and a new village hall. Looking forward, Fernham Homes aims to increase its annual delivery from 60 to 300 homes over the next five years.

To celebrate Spadework’s 40th anniversary, the charity held a fundraising raffle for guests to win 40 prizes. Additionally, Fernham Homes organised a game of Heads or Tails, with donations going to Spadework and the total amount of money raised on the day was £1825.

One of a wide variety of events and initiatives organised as part of its partnership with the charity, which has seen it raise over £60,000 since 2023, far exceeding the original three-year fundraising pledge of £10,000 per year.
