Permission granted for new homes, amenities and GP surgery in Sutton Valence, Kent

Plans have been approved for a new neighbourhood in the village of Sutton Valence, Kent, from local housebuilder, Fernham Homes.

This will deliver 110 new homes, incorporating 43 affordable homes and five self-builds, set within eight acres of landscaping and open space featuring a nature pond and fully equipped natural play area. In addition to the homes, it will also see the creation of a much-needed new GP surgery for the village where existing facilities are currently running at capacity, along with a new local convenience store with space to incorporate a Post Office and a cycle path. Post-construction, it will deliver wider benefits to the community including the delivery of 46 full time jobs.

A historic village set above the Kentish Weald, Sutton Valence is set just five miles south of Maidstone. It is Fernham Homes’ fourth site to secure planning in less than a year, which will bring a combined 323 new homes and breadth of community facilities to Kent, in addition to the housebuilder’s developments already underway in Rainham, Ticehurst, Sissinghurst and West Malling.

Sean Ellis, Managing Director at Fernham Homes, said:

“We are delighted to be moving forward with these new homes and facilities for Sutton Valence, enabling the creation of a much-needed, modern new GP surgery. One of the larger projects now in our portfolio, it will be a flagship site for Fernham Homes and represents another significant step in our growth plans as we celebrate our 25-year anniversary of developing in Kent.”

Work is expected to start at our Sutton Valence location in Summer 2024.
