A Run for a Cause: Fernham Homes Staff Conquer Tunbridge Wells Half-Marathon

In late 2023, a group of dedicated Fernham Homes staff embarked on a mission – not just to conquer the challenging Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon but to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. After months of rigorous training in the crisp winter air, before and after work, the team laced up their running shoes on Sunday 18th February 2024, and hit the pavement to support Spadework, Fernham Homes’ partner charity.

The Fernham Homes team members committed themselves to a demanding training regime, showcasing their determination and passion for the cause. From chilly morning runs to evening sprints, the team dedicated their time and energy to prepare for the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon.

A Blossoming Partnership

The chosen charity, Spadework, holds a special place in Fernham Homes’ heart. Going beyond traditional approaches, Spadework, the award-winning organisation supports adults with learning and other disabilities, people experiencing mental health challenges and those living with dementia.

The Result: £4,188 Raised

We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible support from friends, family, and well-wishers, the Fernham Homes Running Team successfully raised a grand total of £4,188, including offline donations. This generous contribution will go a long way in aiding Spadework to continue their invaluable work.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us on this journey – those who donated, cheered us on, and shared in the joy of giving back. Your generosity is a testament to the power of community and the positive change that can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.

Continuing to Make a Difference

While the Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon has come to an end, our commitment to supporting Spadework persists. Fernham Homes remains dedicated to making a positive impact in the local community, and we invite you to join us in our ongoing efforts to contribute to the well-being and growth of those facing unique challenges.

The funds will continue to provide significant support in the fundamental operating costs of Spadework’s facilities in Offham, which include a garden centre, café and farm shop, and to make accessibility upgrades across the five-acre site.

Stay tuned for more updates on our community initiatives and future events!
