Jitunu, an information technology specialist and Rajashree, a test engineer, had been renting a one-bedroom apartment locally but needed more space, as they both work mostly from home. Jitunu comments: “We had always wanted to buy a property but staying in Croydon was key for us as we really like the area and have a good network of friends here. We wanted more space and knew rent prices were going to increase. Also, we weren’t getting anything for our money by renting. I started looking on property portals such as Rightmove and this is what led us to 8 Croham Valley Road.”

On finding the contemporary development, set in a vibrant suburban community, Jitunu and Rajashree worked with local estate agent, Bairstow Eves to book a visit. Jitunu comments: “We loved the visiting development. It was great to see the show home with furniture and furnishings as it gave us a chance to imagine what our home could look like and how the layout would work with our lifestyle. The home was lovely and it was helpful to see the room sizes and the specification on offer.”

The couple were blown-away with the apartments but also the development itself. For them, it ticked all the boxes so they purchased a two-bedroom, ground floor apartment and stepped onto the property ladder. Jitunu comments: “Since moving into our new home, we have been really enjoying how the layout and specification is enhancing our day-to-day lives. Our favourite kitchen item is the wine cooler, which we hadn’t seen offered by any other development! We hosted a house warming party, the wine cooler was a great addition and got a lot of use; all our friends loved our new home and so do we. As this is our first home, we have bought all new furniture and have been enjoying customising the apartment and making it feel like ours.”

Jitunu continues: “One of our priorities was having a layout which worked for us and in our new home, the set-up is perfect. I work in the main bedroom whilst Rajashree works in the spare bedroom. This works perfectly, we respect each other’s workspace and won’t interrupt each other, but also it means work is separate from the kitchen/living area so we can shut the door at the end of the day, cook dinner and relax.”

Jitunu and Rajashree chose a ground floor apartment specifically to have a private terrace. Jitunu comments: “We love the terrace and this was the main reason we chose this plot. It provides a lovely, spacious and private area for us to enjoy but also gives us direct access to the communal garden, a wonderful upgrade from our rented property. We are excited for summer to have friends and family round as the large communal patio and grassed area is a great place for entertaining.”

Having found their dream home in the location they desired, the couple were overjoyed to have been able to purchase in South Croydon. Jitunu comments: “This area is quiet and the perfect place to be close to London but also countryside walks in Surrey. One of the best things about where our home is situated is the public transport. There is a bus stop right outside and South Croydon station is nearby, so we can get into the city centre and local areas really easily. We love going for an English breakfast in the café down the road and all the other conveniences we need are just a short walk away.”

Jitunu concludes: “We’re settled and happy in our new home and we’re grateful to have found this amazing property in the location we wanted.
