Permission granted for new homes and community amenities in Newington

Plans have been approved for a new country address in the village of Newington, Kent, from local housebuilder, Fernham Homes.

The new project brings 25 high quality houses, including 10 affordable homes, to School Lane in Newington, in the borough of Swale. In addition to the homes, the development will also create much-needed facilities for the adjacent primary school including a new 20-space car park for its staff and a further 20 spaces dedicated pick up/drop off area for visitors.

A picturesque and well-connected village, Newington is set between Sittingbourne and Rainham on the northern edge of the Kent Downs with a direct train line into central London in around an hour.

The Newington project is the third to secure planning in recent weeks, following one in Faversham, also in the borough of Swale, and another in Longfield in the district of Sevenoaks. Combined, they will bring a total of 213 new homes and a variety of community amenities to Kent, building on Fernham Homes’ 20-year legacy in the region of creating thoughtfully designed, high quality homes in the most sought-after locations.

Sean Ellis, Managing Director at Fernham Homes, said:

“We are pleased to finally be moving forward with these new homes and facilities for the village of Newington. These plans have been through lengthy consultation with the local residents over the past two years and have been designed to meet the needs of the local community.”

Work is due to start on the new site in Summer 2024.
